DESCRIPTION:Here is another mountain lodge you should visit! The Burnie Glacier Chalet is a backcountry lodge in Canada that offers all the charm of a European mountain hut, but instead of sharing it with dozens of others, you and your friends can enjoy the best backcountry ski mountaineering, climbing, or hiking Canada has to offer – all to yourselves! Our operating area is legally designated as “non-motorized”. And the best part: we are easy to access. Fly into Smithers on Air Canada or ski, hike, or climb the very next day!\nThe Burnie Glacier Chalet was built by many friends in 2001. It is on the Kwees house territory of the Tsayu clan of the Wet’suwet’en, who graciously gave them permission to build and operate. The nearest road is 20 km and two mountain ridges away. The lodge sleeps eight guests, two guides, and one cook. It is heated with wood and has running water and a small hydro turbine fed by a nearby mountain spring. It is your home away from home, in the mountains.\nSleep well, eat well and PLAY like mad!\nYour 7 days / 6 nights adventure includes: : lodging, catering & cook, guide and the… floater plane flight to get to it!\nPrice: CAD 1365 pp (+tax)\nChristoph Dietzfelbinger the lodge owner, is a fully certified International Mountain Guide and offers to take you hiking on the nearby glaciers roped-up as a team for CAD 500 pp per day. If you’ve never walked on a glacier, you really should try!\nThis trip will run with a minimum of 6 participants and a maximum of 8.\nTrip departure location: Smithers, BC.\nWe welcome anyone who has never had the chance to try such a fabulous adventure before.
